I think Unicornes are extremely unfair. The have way too good stats. Unicorne campers can rip your army to shreds. I think that the Ca should do 1 or both of 2 things. They should either, make them seriously cost over 2,000 money, or reduce their stats majorly like in empire. Does anybody else agree with me?

I actually think they're quite fair, if you want to advance your army into a storm of 20lb shells as if they were just normal art then fine. you need 3 or 4 of them in a massed battery for maximum effect anyway, this is a massive target and simply suiciding cav can be a death blow to them and the main force which could be 3000 cheaper than yours. or if you don't want to fight them like that then you can march your army to the opponents weaker flank and force them to face you away from the unicorns. The expense of having them will also draw units away from their main force as a guard further weakening the enemy army.

Have you ever gone up against a unicorne camp? They blow half your army away before you get to them, then their main force hold you off while their unicornes continue to blast you guys to bits.

Yes actually I just suicided my cav around his unicorn's defences and hid all my troops in the village, I don't remember what map but I think it was aosta valley. After his unicorns were gone and I had held off my opponents attempts to exploit my lack of cav he admited defeat.

What I mean is that on the Aosta Valley map,due to the enclosed high ground,an opponent could theoretically close off the two choke points beforehand with line infantry,while unicornes,thanks to their high range and angle,would be able to destroy any other artillery that attempts to fire on it. I'm not doubting what you did;something very similar happened in a Prince_of_Macedon video where while the left flank was occupied from a prior cavalry and infantry attack,he circled his General's Staff (his only remaining cavalry) and suicided it into the opponents Howitzer's,which he couldn't reach in time.

I agree;on Grassy Flatlands you would have much more cavalry maneuverability, so the opponent would have to march with infantry protecting his flanks,which wouldn't hinder him too much if he has heavy cavalry,but the death knell for Unicornes there would be the 600 range artillery like the 12-lbs Cannons or Artillerie E Pied; they would be able to fire unhindered, giving them a crucial range advantage that could allow them to destroy the Unicornes during their setup.

They camp. And the arty you guys were saying about has horrible accuracy adn in my opinion is no worth it, it better to just ban unicornes.

Do you want me to set up a game where I show you unicorne camping. My steam ID is The Imperator.

I think he meant that instead of him being a regular camper,he just wants to show me how hard it is for him to beat.

If I may ask, has anyone noticed the unicorns at the battle of Borodino? In my game (normal) until they were taken out, the 20 pounder unicorns only managed to take down my arts numbers to 20 or so and destroyed no cannon where as i knocked out three and killed many of their dudes. It is not because they weren't hitting my cannon, there were tons craters around and on them.
Might this mean that while they are great for killing dudes they're not very good at nocking out cannons or am i just lucky?

@TheKommandmant:
The problem is that Unicornes are fairly inaccurate,but they can still hit groups of infantry fairly reliably.When it comes down to blasting an artillery group,though,it could take up to 5 minutes for a direct hit.
@AhugeUSMCfan:
In that position you leave your Unicornes exposed until the two main forces meet,right?However,an infantry 6X20 column of guard units could pierce the infantry body,use line infantry to occupy the gap,and then send in a unit or two straight to the artillery in a blitzkrieg attack.Also,having the Unicornes in front exposes them to ambushes from units like the Windbuschen Jaeger (although that's easily remedied).

I should add that it took around twenty perhaps thirty to play through some cautiousness on my part as it was my first time playing borodino.
