I played the game in single player many times and I got over this austrian unit called"winder buche" or something like that.
I used it a couple of times and it became my favorite one.
It fires so fast at long range and has devastating impact on the enemy who doesn't know where it comes from(it makes smaller noise, it doesn't make smoke nor flash when they fire as they use compressed air.).
So I wanted to ask you because i didn't see anybody to talk about it.Want do you think about it.Is it stonger than other elite units.(With one of that I killed an Old Guard and a fussiler of line unit before I ran out of ammo).
I'm thinking of using it in a multiplayer game but I just got back to school and I dont have time.

I don't like em.First off,I don't know where your getting at with the rifle flash and everything,if a unit shoots it immediatly becomes visible and the fear factor is lost.Yes,they do reload pretty quickly, but put it in front of a skilled player and it's very easy to counter with a meat shield+a normal 90 men light unit (a strategy which costs 100 less BTW).In a light on light fight, the Winbusche Jaeger's will lose every time, and like I said long distance shooting doesn't help with meat shields. They're okay units I guess, but wayyyyyy overpriced and very easy to counter; your better off buying a grenzer and a hungarian fusilier than to buy the Windbusche. Also,I would judge your results in single player with a grain of salt; the AI really only has one strategy, which is to spread into a very thin line and just go forward and then mass melee when things go downhill, which is really the thing you only see from noobs in MP

well if winbuche are skirm then it's skirm vs light.
But i tell you i always win with them.(If i play with small amounts of units(just 2 or 3)because I don't really like to stay and manuver big armies. But I win with them.I defeated an old guard and a normal line infantry and the general(that was the enemy army)with only one winbuche jaegers. And I only had 3 or 4 casualties.

Did they have any milita in front as a meat shield? How about a cav charge to disrupt the jaegers firing while closing in?You can't expect most people other than the AI and absolute noobs to just keep falling for the run back/stop/fire/run away/repeat tactic over and over again (other than the AI).The only advantage windbusche's have is range and reload over other SKIRMISHERS (not lights). If the opponent can take away those advantages (which they can and will),then you just wasted 1200 bucks. That's the same as an old guard which, frankly,is more effective.

I'm just talking from personal experience, every time I faced a Windbusche Jaeger i've been able to counter them with minimal casualties in the 30-40 range.

But the Winder Busche has 45 men, so your not getting that much bang for your buck. Also, they remain hidden only while walking, not while firing. Add in that they can't place stakes, and they're really not useful.
